Cable Roll Boxes

Cable rolls are an effective solution for the organisation of longer lengths of electrical wiring. As they essentially act as a spool, CAT6 and CAT5 cable rolls allow for the winding and unwinding of wiring for a wide range of purposes. 4Cabling stocks and sells various Network cable boxes in addition to data cable, coax cable, audio cable, telephone, and security cables in bulk. We also have durable ethernet cables for outdoors and indoor applications, so you can be certain that your cables will be able to withstand their environment.

When buying CAT6 and CAT5E cable roll boxes, it is important to not risk damaging the integrity of your network by purchasing poor quality products. All of 4Cabling’s products undergo stringent testing to ensure that they are capable of rising to the challenges of your network.

Whether you're working on a small home project or large enterprise, buying CAT6/ CAT5e cable rolls and cables in bulk can not only just save you time and money. Bulk buying cables also provides you with the necessary tools to tailor your cabling solutions so they perfectly fit your needs. What are the benefits of CAT6 and CAT5E cable rolls?

Cable rolls are a popular solution for situations where cabling is required to reach long - or very short - distances. If a traditional, premade 1 metre cable is too long or too short for your needs, you might want to consider investing in a CAT5e or CAT6 cable roll to better manage your cabling.

There are various types of CAT6, CAT 5E and Audio cable rolls available that will work better when used for different applications.

How long can a network cable be?

The maximum length of a standard network cable is 100 metres or 328 feet. If a network cable exceeds this length, it may suffer from issues including weakened signals and reduced overall performance.

But what is the reason behind this limit? While fibre optic cables can successfully carry signals across distances over 90 kilometres, the thin wires used within Ethernet network cables are comparatively more sensitive and vulnerable to degradation.

How do you extend network cables?

It’s a common misconception that network cables cannot be extended. However, you can  certainly extend your network cables if you find that the 100 metre length is insufficient for your needs.

To extend your network cables, you’ll first need to source a network switch. When placed in the middle of a network cable, a network switch can extend the reach of the cable beyond the standard 100 metres.

What is the difference between CAT5E, CAT6 and CAT6A cables?

The category of a cable depends on the specific standards that were met during its assembly. In order to be sold as CAT5E, CAT6 or CAT6A (or any other category), a cable must meet particular standardisations. These specifications describe its performance capabilities and how likely it is to experience signal disruption/ crosstalk. Higher categories have more stringent specifications for performance.

CAT5E and CAT6 cables are commonly found in home and business networks. Meanwhile the higher-performing CAT6A cables are mostly used in dense networks that demand higher speeds (such as universities or health care facilities). Even though CAT6A cables are more advanced, CAT5E and CAT6 cables are both capable of providing reliable connection for smaller networks.

Below is a summary of the three standards and their differences:
