In this series, we’ll shine a spotlight on a device from our extensive product offering, highlighting its effect on our constantly evolving technical landscape. This time around, we’re taking a closer look at the Industrial series from the new 4Cabling electrical range.

What is the Industrial electrical range?

A range of combination switched sockets, extension sockets, straight plugs, socket outlets, surface switches, and mounting enclosures suitable for outdoor use, or use in harsh environments, like a warehouse. In addition, a selection of weatherproof switchgear; switches, extension sockets, straight plugs and isolators are also available.

How does it work?

Sockets are available in three and four-pin designs, and between 10A and 32A. You also choose sockets with capabilities up to 250V or 500V. Extension sockets also offer an angled option. Surfaces switches are available in one, two or three pole. Each product boasts design quirks to bolster its outdoor use.

What are their key features?

Individual design quirks to bolster against external elements, like dust, heat and rain.

Sockets in the range feature automatic snap catch latches and some offer hose-proof, dust-resistant caps for additional protection. Further, the transparent cap also enables easier visual inspection and pin configuration. The socket enclosures are made from PVC to enable solvent bonding to standard electrical PVC conduits.

Switches are crafted from stainless steel combination head screws for corrosion resistance, and come complete with padlocking facilities for extra security.

Created with premium-grade stainless steel and brass internal mechanisms, the plugs in this range are robust against harsh conditions; they also boast small and large cable seal options to suit a range of cable dimensions. Another design quirk is the wider lock-ring, which makes for easier unscrewing from the sockets, especially when operating while wearing protective gloves.

All products in the Industrial range are IP66 certified (except for the weatherproof power points, which are IP53 certified), and the products are temperature resistant from -25C to 50C - perfect for the harsh Australian conditions.
